We are in full spring fund-the-project mode as we balance paying for contributors, with getting early subscribers. And there’s always print costs, design costs, hidden costs, and strike a blow to your gut costs. We called George Soros but he was not interested in investing in our Misesian magazine. So, every single early subscriber to the magazine receives our eternal gratitude.
I’ve said it multiple times, and I’m emphasizing it again here: the Austro-Libertarian world would benefit from a full-feature, print magazine that carries the same feel as our brilliantly designed mortal enemy JacobinMag– a print publication that provides a bridge from the blogosphere world (where we have Mises Wire and FEE and LRC, etc), to the strongly academic journal format, where we have, say, the Quarterly Journal of Austrian Economics and Libertarian Papers. And Jacobin, I might add, as their own academic journal, Catalyst.
Jacobin is 120+ pages, minimal and elegant, rich in content and socialist nostalgia. We need the same. Essays, articles, in depth, aware of our movement, our history, our theory, and our strategy. I have a vision. And now we work toward it. You can check out our sample here to get an understanding of the publication’s feel.
Meanwhile, over at the heroic Tom Woods’ Liberty Classroom, Jeff Herbener just published his brand new course: American Economic History, Part 1. From the European background of the American settlement to the economic variances in the North and the South to the transforming capital structures at the birth of the new nation, this is content you won’t want to miss.
Herbener is one of our movement’s best and brightest and so why wouldn’t you sign up for Liberty Classroom JUST for this course?
Now, as we continue to make progress toward the publication of the magazine, we are doing a temporary deal: if you subscribe to Liberty Classroom via our special link (austrolibertarian.com/woods), you get a free subscription to the magazine. Seriously. You get access to all the Liberty Classroom courses, and a year’s subscription to ALMag (as the cool kids call it). You have to use our link though– otherwise, there’s no way to track you as a supporter!
Here’s your fine print: If you sign up for the Basic packages, you get a year’s digital Magazine subscription. If you sign up for the Master, you get two years print subscription. We are excited to send this to you and let us know if you have any questions!
